Getting Paid ® Preparing A Quote To Get
Paid
This product is an extended version of a presentation
by The Credit Speaker ™ (Kim Radok). The material presents
a number of aspects relevant for those businesspeople
who prepare quotes as part of their normal work duties.
It is suitable for businesses of all sizes and businesspeople,
even those that don't extend credit but for some reason
don't get paid promptly.
The focus of this product is to assist in preparing
a quote that assists in the payment process. It has
been my experience that too many businesspeople have
been educated in how to prepare a quote and/or contract
to sell, but not on how to get paid. If the preparation
of your quotes and/or contracts are not prepared in
a manner that assists in the payment process and the
customer decides not to pay, you have just effectively
given away your assets.
In this publication you will find material that covers
(i) the rules of credit today, (ii) the rules of selling,
payment, getting paid and quoting, (iii) information
on how to prepare a quote to get paid, and (iv) on how
to review your quote/contract before the customer is
supplied.
This publication can be purchased in either a hardcopy
format or via CD, Floppy or an e-mail PDF (202 KB) formatted
attachment.

Small Business Operators

by The
Credit Speaker ™ (Kim Radok) which
he has presented previously and is scheduled to deliver

There is also valuable information for those businesses
which claim not to sell on business yet somehow end
up with unpaid invoices.

on credit in today’s world, the objectives of
your credit management process and aspects for consideration.
Some of the aspects covered include, (i) the importance
of invoicing and identifying your customer, (ii) should
the owner ring for the outstanding payment, (iii) should
you sell on credit, (iv) doing business with big business,
(iv) the importance of documentation, and many more
interesting aspects that help you get paid.

their own businesses. Therefore this publication can

Doing Business with Big Business and Government
Bodies
By Kim Radok
Forward by Doug Sarah, Business Development Partner
of Growthworks.
This publication assists business owners/managers and
their employees that sell their goods and services to
big business customers and government bodies. The focus
when selling on credit must be the creation of cashflow
and profits. Too often, suppliers are caught out by
not understanding the dynamics under which both big
business and government bodies operate, and often find
that they have not found the pot of gold as envisaged,
but a poisoned chalice.

Blue Guide to Credit Fundamentals
By Kim Radok
The "Blue" focus is taken from De Bono's
(1985) Six Thinking Hats book.
Blue is cool, and it is also
the colour of the sky, which is above everything else.
The Blue Hat is concerned with control and the organisation
of the thinking process and the control of the other
hats.
The idea of the Blue Guide is to complete a strategic
credit management overview of your business in a structured
manner. This guide does not provide any answers. The
guide however, does list 31 credit management
fundamentals and 147 questions
that will assist in completing this strategic review.
The new business operator will also find this guide
useful when addressing the key credit management issues.

Credit Claims - The Great Profit
Robbers
By Kim Radok
The purpose of this book is to reveal the extent of
waste and the loss of profits that result when credit
claims are raised. Issues explored include, (i) the
loss of profits, (ii) the creation of profits for third
parties, (iii) why most credit claims originate with
the supplier and (iv) why customers should work with
suppliers to reduce the numbers of credit claims being
raised.
The reality is, (i) credit claims are always a liability,
(ii) processing of credit claims does not produce One
Dollar ($) of profit for the supplier and (iii) creates
additional expenses for the customer.

The Privacy Act - A Working
Guide for Credit Professionals
Kim Radok, with the assistance of MADGWICKS lawyers
has produced a booklet to help the credit professional
understand the provisions of Privacy Amendment (Private
Sector) Act 2000 and the existing credit reporting
provisions of the Privacy Act 1988. Key concepts
are addressed in regards to personal information and
credit reporting and how these provisions may apply
in a practical context to the credit professional in
the workplace.
The protection of privacy is an increasingly important
aspect in business dealings and has meant that privacy
law is a growing area. Irrespective of whether privacy
laws currently apply in your organisation, it is good
commercial practice to follow the National Privacy
Principles contained in the Act. In any case, where
the credit reporting provisions of the Privacy
Act apply, there is no choice but to comply.

The Taking of Guarantees
By Kim Radok
This booklet discusses the issues that apply when taking
a director’s or a personal guarantee in the trade environment.
Included in the material is a very brief outline of
some of the cases that form the history of why financial
providers’ guarantees are sometimes more of a liability
rather than a valid form of security over an advance.
The material is aimed at the inexperienced or micro/small
business proprietor, credit professionals unsure of
the issues or in needing a reference and students. It
is a guide only as to the issues that apply when asking
the guarantor(s) to sign the guarantee. It is not a
complete guide to every aspect of taking a guarantee
or in how to prepare a guarantee. Other sources of material
are more suitable in this respect.

The DSO (Days Sales Outstanding)
Learning Exercise
The DSO Learning Exercise includes a booklet containing
theory and concepts and a Settlement Discount Calculator.
The booklet describes how the D.S.O. calculation, as
it is currently calculated in many organisations, does
not really measure the credit or accounts receivable
department's collection performance. Perspectives are
introduced to suggest that if specific factors are not
validated during the calculation of the D.S.O. figure,
then the D.S.O. figure is really a measure of the organisation's
overall approach to credit management.
Accordingly, if the D.S.O. figure is to be used as a
measure of the credit or accounts receivable department's
performance, the various factors illustrated in the
booklet that affect the D.S.O. calculation, must be
validated.
The DSO Calculator is provided to allow completion
of simple calculation exercises that help prove some
of the theories and concepts outlined in the booklet.
This is available as a software package in PC format.
It will operate on any system with Windows 95 or above
installed, and the following requirements -
